Joy of Love ~ Day 10

Day 10 Theme ~ Spaces

Our kitchen is the main hang out spot in our house.  Our kids do their homework at the counter, they eat breakfast there and they seem to snack there all day long.  We also play card games, board games and even watch TV in the kitchen.  There are other places in the house that are special to each of us.  One of those spaces is our pool table room.  Mike uses this room for his guy nights.  Pool, darts, TV and few snacks and beverages makes it a perfect hang out for his friends.  They don’t get together as often as they would like, but do manage to have a pretty good time when they do.

The Hang Out Room

Daphne has her favorite spaces too – anywhere warm and comfortable.  She has a dog bed in our bedroom and another in the living room.  When we go down to our family room to watch TV, her “warm and comfortable” spot is Sophia’s bean bag chair.

Bean Bag Chair

Sophia has all but given up rights to her bean bag chair.  Too much dog hair and a not-so-fresh smell has made her realize that she has doesn’t want to reclaim her once cherished spot.

I had to post this photo too – Daphne just hanging out in the living room on one of  her dog beds.  Isn’t she sweet?

Day 9 Theme ~ Passions and Hobbies

Sebastian enjoys playing and watching football.  Although his NFL team didn’t make the playoffs this year, his flag football team totally rocked.  Sebastian’s passion for football is shared by his Dad (and his Papa Tom, and his Uncle Sean and Nana Karen too).

Passion For Football

Sebastian has been required to read several books this year for 4th grade.  Although he needed a bit of encouragement to sit down and pull a book out early in the year, we often find him in his room looking like this now.

Sophia’s passion continues to be…art.  She loves to work on any project that involves markers, crayons, glue, scissors or any other form of creativity.

Day 8 Theme ~ Love From The Heart

A gift from the heart of my children.  Sebastian wanted to use his own money this past Christmas to buy me something special.  He asked Mike if there were any camera lenses that he could buy for me.  His allowance is only a couple of dollars each week so no camera lens would fit within his budget.  A little searching by Mike led him to this coffee mug that looks exactly like a camera lens.  Sebastian asked Sophia if she would like to go in on buying it for me.  She agreed and they presented it to me on Christmas Eve.  Truly a gift from the heart.  I LOVE it!

My New Canon Lens (Coffee Mug)

Another special gift to me was the Canon camera that Mike bought for me on Mother’s Day in 2008.  He was the one who encouraged me, inspired me and gave me the tools to get started with my photography.  He also purchased the domain name msullivanphotography.net so that I could share my photography with family and friends.

To Mike, Sebastian and Sophia – Thank you for all the gifts big and small…the hugs and kisses, shoveling the driveway, picking up after our dog, making the bed on the weekends, drawing pictures to share with me.  All of those things are so very special to me.
