The end of the growing season is near, but I still have several plants producing fruits, vegetables and flowers. After a short weekend away to attend my niece’s wedding, we came home to lots of things ready for picking.

I have a small garden, but most things are grown in containers. Peppers have never done well before this year. I’m not sure what was so different about this summer. I made a batch of homemade salsa with fresh tomatoes, peppers, onion and garlic from the garden. Even the kids liked it which surprised me.
The apple tree is fuller than it’s ever been. They are good to eat fresh, but I may end up making apple sauce and apple butter with the extras. Yum!
