Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day started with a nice, lazy morning.  I was able to sleep in, have a long phone conversation with my Mom, enjoy a Caribou mocha that Mike & Sophia picked up along with fresh berries and a bagel for breakfast.   The weather was not cooperative, so we opted to go out to a movie in the afternoon.  Mike braved the wind and rain and grilled steak and chicken for dinner.  Sebastian gave me a very sweet homemade card.   Sophia gave me beautiful handmade gifts.  Mike picked out delicious truffles and a book.  It was so nice to enjoy a day with no commitments or activities.  The best part was to spend the day together as a family.

Me & The Kids

Thank you Mike, Sebastian and Sophia for making me realized how lucky I am today and every day we are together.

A Taste Of Spring

We experienced a taste of spring this past weekend with a little baseball, a little outdoor time and a little bit too much sun.  We enjoyed watching Sebastian’s baseball team play during a double-header at a nearby field.  Even though the sun was shining, the wind was cool.  I had to wear my winter jacket, but it was nice to be outdoors in the fresh air.  It was also nice seeing Sebastian’s team win both games.

Spring Baseball

There hasn’t been much time for yard work and the cool temperatures have not inspired us to start outdoor projects, but I did take my camera out for a quick tour of the garden and yard to see if anything was growing.  There isn’t much yet, but the forecast is for several days with highs in the 60’s.  The grass will be green before we know it..and the dandelions will be blooming. 😉

Birthday Celebration

Over the weekend we celebrated Karen’s 70th birthday.  The festivities included a homemade breakfast, a bowling party, drinks at a brew pub, dinner in downtown Minneapolis and a brunch the next day complete with a surprise.
