Amaryllis, Part II

The first Amaryllis flower has opened up. Here is how it looked on Wednesday.

And this is how it looked yesterday.

The second of four blossoms is beginning to open today.  It is nice to see something full of life and color during our dreary Minnesota winter.  Today it is rainy and foggy.  Very odd for January.  Next week’s highs will be in the single digits.  😦

Amaryllis

After many, many years without flowering, my amaryllis finally decided to bloom.  The flowers are not quite open yet.  This is only a prelude.

I believe the bulb originally came from my Mom.  I have had it for more than 15 years.  I can not remember the last time it bloomed, but I think it was worth the wait.

Elf On The Shelf 2012

Buddy, our Elf on the Shelf, came to visit on December 1.  Each morning during the month we found Buddy in a different location in our house.  Here is the photo recap of his whereabouts each day until Christmas Eve when he reported back to the North Pole.  To see where he showed up last year, you can look here, here, here, here and here.
