A beautiful start to the end of 2014…

Although quite picturesque, the day began with a -27 degree windchill. Needless to say, the photo was taken through our front window. 🙂
Wishing everyone a wonderful 2015!

When the final days of September bring warm, sunny days you have to forget about chores and errands and take advantage of the outdoors. That’s exactly what we did last Sunday when we hiked through Lester Park.

At the end of our journey we came across an area called “The Deeps”. Teenagers are often found here on hot summer days jumping off a peak high above a pool of water in the Amity Creek below. Although summer had past, the warm temperatures attracted a number of kids jumping into “The Deeps”. You have to look carefully in the upper left corner of the first image below. You can follow the path of this jumper from the top of the cliff down into the water. I sure hope my kids never try this.

With snow flurries in the air last night it makes me realize how short autumn in Minnesota can be. Here is a collection of images from last weekend when the record temperature of 81 degrees made the autumn splendor even more enjoyable.
