While the Twin Cities had a huge winter storm with wind and snow this past weekend, Duluth received almost no snow, but more than our share of wind.  In Canal Park wind gusts were over 50 mph.  Sustained winds were over 40 mph.  All of this wind made for high waves on Lake Superior and the end result was lots of ice near the shore in Canal Park.  I stopped by the lakewalk and lighthouse on my way back to work after lunch yesterday.  A number of people were checking out the creations that were made by the waves and spray of water.

It was a fun adventure to take these photographs.  Winds were still around 30 mph yesterday and everything was covered in ice.  It was hard to keep my footing without getting blown over and landing on my…well, you know.
