The Fourth

We enjoyed the fireworks at Bayfront Festival Park.  There were several boats in the harbor and thousands of people in the park waiting for the display.  Although it rained earlier in the day, the evening was perfect to watch the fireworks.  We made the kids put on their 4th of July shirts for a quick picture before we left.  Sebastian immediately changed following the photo.  I guess it’s not very cool to have your family dress in matching t-shirts and go out in public with them when you are 13.  😉

Family

We have had a busy month or  two with the end of the school year, holidays, birthdays and other special occasions.  Here’s a very brief recap of what we have been celebrating.

Mother’s Day

Both kids were standing a little straighter than normal so that they could look taller than me.  Sebastian is only 1/4 of an inch away from catching me.

We have also celebrated a niece’s wedding in May, a nephew’s wedding in June and the graduation of another nephew just yesterday.  We have one more nephew getting married in August…another celebration!

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day!

He never looks for praises
He’s never one to boast
He just goes on quietly working
For those he loves the most
His dreams are seldom spoken
His wants are very few
And most of the time his worries
Will go unspoken too
He’s there…. A firm foundation
Through all our storms of life
A sturdy hand to hold to
In times of stress and strife
A true friend we can turn to
When times are good or bad
One of our greatest blessings,
The man that we call Dad.
