Soaking Up The Sun

January has been a cold, snowy month.  I think our entire household is ready for some warmer weather – even if it warms up just enough to get outside and enjoy all of the snow.  Sophia took advantage of the warm sunlight streaming in our front window on Saturday morning.  It was below zero outside, but toasty warm laying on the arm of our sofa.

Detour

I took a short detour on my way to work Monday.  I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take these photos.

I nearly froze my fingers and toes off in the single digit weather, but I think it was well worth it.

Cabin Weekend

We spent Labor Day weekend at Tom & Karen’s cabin.  The kids played on the sandy beach, went for boat, pontoon and jet ski rides, looked for frogs, made s’mores and watched our mini fireworks display.  Tom made his famous deep-fried turkey and Karen made her delicious Boursin potatoes for dinner on Saturday.  The weather was cool, but comfortable for being outdoors.  It was a much-needed weekend away.
