Winter Fun

Mike has been busy keeping up with all of the snow this winter.  Snowblowing the driveway and sidewalks, shoveling the stairs and decks and keeping the backyard sledding course in tip-top shape.  We spent some time checking out his work on the sledding hill yesterday.  We all had a great time sliding – including the grown ups.  Sebastian took a little video of the fun.

Here’s Sophia two weeks ago just after she caught some air going over the big  jump.

Having Fun

Sebastian and Sophia also competed in their third Chester Bowl Ski Race this weekend.  They both had awesome runs down the hill.  Here are some clips of the action.

It’s been so much fun watching the kids improve their skills and their times each week on the course.  There are three more ski races this year.  We can’t wait!

Soccer Season

Sophia played her 2nd year of soccer this summer.  She began the season at the end of July.  Somehow we managed to find all pink clothes (except the shoes) for her first practice.

Ready For Practice

Last year’s team consisted of several boys and Sophia.  This year, not only were there three other girls on the team, one of them was her best friend.  Games were once or twice a week, with practice on Sunday afternoon.  She had a great time learning about the game, chasing the ball and she even got a few kicks in there.

Time For A Break

The season ended last week with a final game and a party afterwards.  Her coach hosted everyone at his house and served Sophia’s favorite – Subway!

Here’s the team.

The Silly Team

Now that soccer is over, Sophia is taking a break from sports for a little while.  She has to decide if she wants to sign up for swimming or gymnastics next.  For now we are hanging out at the football field and cheering Sebastian on at his flag football games.

Baseball Playoffs

Sebastian’s team finished a very respectable 2nd place in the Little League Minors division last night.  They had a great season and it was fun to see the improvement in their batting and fielding throughout the season.  In the final inning of last night’s game, Sebastian had an awesome hit into the outfield.  We thought he would certainly make it to second base, but his ball was caught by the son of one our best friends who plays on the opposing team.  Although the kids were disappointed to not finish first, they did have some exciting games during playoffs including one that went into extra innings.  Sebastian knocked in the winning run for that game!  We really enjoyed the season are sad to see the end of Little League baseball for the year.  There is actually have one more weekend of baseball next week when Sebastian’s All-Star team competes in a local tournament.  Rumor has it that games begin at 8am on Friday and run all weekend.  We can all hardly wait. 🙂

Here’s our little superstar.
