MCP Project 52 {Week 16}

Week 16 Theme ~ Furry Friends

I missed weeks 14 and 15 of Project 52 (my weekly photography project), but I did get last week’s photo.  Since we only have one furry pet in the family, Daphne was the subject of my photo.  When Sophia saw that I was taking photos of Daphne, she wanted to join in the fun.

In honor of the royal wedding, the next theme is “Princess for a Day”.  I’m pretty sure the only volunteer I’ll have for that one will be Sophia.  I have a feeling Daphne may be an unwilling participant too.  Stay tuned…

Week 13 Theme ~ Just for Fun

The weather is finally getting better and we’ve had more opportunities to go outside.  The backyard still has snow and mud, but Daphne is excited to be able to roam around out back.  The kids have had their bikes and scooters out and we’ve actually gone for walks after work.  We love all the daylight.  In honor of springtime and all the activities that are starting up again, I took these pictures “just for fun” on the swingset in the backyard.  You really can’t slide or swing yet – too much snow, but these guys have shorter legs so it worked out just fine.

Week 12 Theme ~ From The Jewelry Box

Originally a gift from my grandmother to my mother, this string of pearls has now been passed down to me along with a note from my mom.  It was supposed to be a gift for my 40th birthday, but my Mom gave it to me last year.  I guess she didn’t want to wait.  It will now be a gift for Sophia on her 40th birthday – 34 years from now.

String Of Pearls

This class ring belonged to my Dad’s mother.  She graduated in 1926 from Cromwell High School.  I never met her, she died when my Dad was just a teenager.  This is the only thing I have that she owned.  Just last week her younger brother (my great uncle) passed away at age 97.  He was the last remaining sibling out of 13 kids.
