Double Vision

I have written about it many times before, but we have a bit of a deer problem.  They like to eat our hostas, young maple trees, apple trees, arborvitae, lilies, tulips…pretty much everything in our yard and garden.  The problem has become larger over the years.  Unfortunately, the problem has multiplied by two this year.

Destructive Duo

We have seen this pair of fawns in our neighborhood several times over the past few weeks.  Now they seem to think our yard has the best salad bar.  The fawns visited us on Tuesday and were back again this morning for breakfast at 6:00 a.m. with their mom.  Oh deer!!

Blue Iris

My favorite irises are about to bloom.  The Siberian Iris.

The first clematis blossom opened this week.  The plant died back quite a bit after our record cold winter.  It only has a handful of buds this year.

I spotted our friend “Chippy” filling up his cheeks under our neighbor’s bird feeder a few nights ago.

We see deer in our yard every day now.  Sometimes twice or three times a day.  The deer repellent has kept them away from my Asiatic lilies until a couple of days ago.  They ate all but two buds.  😦

The fog moved out this morning and we actually had an 80 degree day with peeks of sunshine.  We are hoping for another warm day tomorrow.  Fingers crossed.
