Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!

The kids began their weekend long celebration of Halloween with a costume parade at school on Friday.  They also had classroom parties following the parade.

Old Guy

The kids were all ready to trick-or-treat today, but first we had to carve the pumpkins.  Sebastian made a traditional jack-o-lantern and Mike and I made a skeleton skull.

The kids stopped for a quick picture before they headed out to trick-or-treat.

Pretty Pirate and The Old Man

After over an hour of trick-or-treating with Mike, they came home to show off their loot.

Candy

It’s a shame neither of them like Almond Joy or Mounds.  I guess I will have to eat them so they don’t go to waste.

We hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!

Boo at the Zoo

Sophia had a dry run with her Halloween costume by spending last Saturday at the Lake Superior Zoo for Boo at the Zoo.  We pieced together some of Sebastian’s old pirate costume (eye patch, hat, sword) and added a feminine flair with a red skirt, white shirt, pirate bandana, a long braid in her hair and black boots.  I think it all came together quite nicely.

ARRRR!
Pirate Girl

Mike and Sophia spent the afternoon looking at animals, checking out displays and seeing all the great costumes – not to mention bagging a whole bunch candy.

Mike snapped a few pictures with his iPhone to capture their father-daughter time together.

Giant Pumpkin

Sophia’s favorite take home items included a helium balloon, pumpkin tattoo on her cheek and a giant Three Musketeers bar she won by playing a bean bag toss game.  The weather was beautiful and both Mike and Sophia had a wonderful time.  They can’t wait to do it again next year.
