A Great Evening At The Ball Park

Sebastian’s baseball team, the Tigers, hosted the Pirates last night.  With his Nana and Papa in the crowd Sebastian had one hit, two walks, scored twice and fielded a ground ball for a force out at third.  In a 5 inning game, the Tigers were down 8-4 heading in the bottom of the 5th when they erupted for 5 straight runs to win the game 9-8.  The Tigers, and Sebastian, were definitely a bit down after two close losses this past Saturday.  When this one ended, they were on top of the world.  A great evening at the ball park indeed. 🙂

Birthday Girl

We missed posting a birthday greeting for Sophia yesterday.  It was quite a busy day with family and friends.  At the end of the day Sophia told Mike that she wants to do everything she did for her birthday again next year.  I guess the day was a success. 🙂

Happy Belated Birthday Sophia!

Flower Girl

Warm weather has finally arrived.  We were able to spend some time in the backyard last night.  Sebastian and Mike practiced their batting and pitching and Sophia and I did a little gardening.  We finally planted the sunflowers that we had started indoors from seed a few weeks ago.  We also weeded the vegetable garden.  Sophia was a bit more interested in the earth worms than the actual gardening.  She was also distracted by the lilacs that were blooming.  She picked a big bouquet of the purple flowers, then we found these pretty little blue flowers growing near our neighbor’s fence.

I’m sure glad that her attention turned from worms to flowers.  I’d much rather have a vase of flowers in the house than a bucket of earth worms.
